The Wenying Lake reservoir, also known as the “Mother Lake”, is the most important water supply for the ancient city of Datong. OLIN has designed the surrounding campus and healing gardens for the newly constructed hospital tower and research building of Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Nationwide Children’s Hospital is one of America’s most prominent pediatric health care and research institutes, and has just completed the largest pediatric expansion project in U.S. history, adding 2.1 million square feet of clinical and research space. A dedication ceremony will take place on June 11, 2012. The new facility will open to the public on June 20, 2012, and is expected to welcome at least one million patient visits in its first year.
The winners of the St Peter’s Square international design competition have been announced by Manchester City Council. A design team led by German landscape architect Latz + Partner have been selected to make their vision a reality.
“May 27, 2009, the legislation has been drafted without any input from lighting designers, and restricts the practice of lighting design to members of other professions and trades, such as architects, engineers and electricians. In several Sections in the Bill HB 2649 it states that only a licensed as an engineer or registered as an architect, landscape architect, or interior designer can provide lighting design services.
This greatly affects a large number of architectural lighting designers and suppliers who offer design services as apart of their business.
