Every year, the American University Architecture School Rankings are released. This year has seen a shift in the rankings for Undergraduate and Graduate programs. With LSU taking top spot in Undergraduate from Pennsylvania State and Cornell rising to third swapping places with Purdue (dropping from 3rd to 7th). In the graduate program rankings sees the University of Pennyslyvania rising up the rankings from 4th to 2nd and Cornell also rising from 5th to 3rd, however Kansas State University has dropped down the rankings to 8th from 2nd.
The rankings by hiring firms also look at the various skills of recent graduates including Communication, Design, Research, Computer, Cross Disciplinary and Sustainable design. Harvard, University of Pennyslyvania and LSU constantly rank in the top 3 for all six skill rankings. UPDATE | 2014 Design Intelligence rankings are now available
Design Intelligence has announced the 2013 America’s Best Architecture and Design Schools including the top landscape architecture schools in the USA. This is the third year we are sharing the list with our readers. The ranking is determined by surveying respondents selected from lists of undergraduate and graduate landscape architecture programs accredited by the Landscape Architectural Accreditation Board.
LSU and Harvard have maintained their top ranking for Undergraduate and Graduate programs, whilst Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University has risen to second spot for both its Undergraduate and Graduate programs.

City College of New York and Rutgers, were honored with Awards of Excellence for their entries Van Alen Institute: Projects in Public Architecture and the U.S. National ParkService are pleased to announce the winners of Parks for the People: A Student Competition to Reimagine America’s National Parks. Eight student and faculty teams were honored at the competition award ceremony, reception, and exhibition opening on September 19 in Washington, D.C. at the AIA Legacy Foundation’s Octagon Museum.

A temporary pavilion that applies current and emerging technologies will be built on the grounds of The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art to coincide with the exhibition Inventing the Modern World: Decorative Arts at the World’s Fairs 1851–1939, opening April 14. Generator Studio, a Kansas City architecture firm, designed Sun Pavilion in conjunction with Los Angeles-based artist Tm Gratkowski, Brightergy LLC, Prosser Wilbert Construction and structural engineering firm Thornton Tomasetti.

UPDATE | 2014 Design Intelligence rankings for Design Schools is now avaliable
Its that time of year again when Design Intelligence releases their list of Best American Architecture Schools for 2012 including the best landscape architecture schools. The list has changed from 2011 when we last reported on the list with Pennsylvania State University moving up the rankings in the Undergraduate degrees and Kansas State University rising up the best Graduate School list.
Design Intelligence asked numerous firms “In your firm’s hiring experience in the past five years, which schools are best preparing students for success in the profession?” and the Top 5 for Undergraduate and Graduate schools are:
