“Living in the City in the City” is the outcome of the international design competition organized by the Municipality of Genoa for the enhancement of Via XX Settembre. The elimination of private traffic on Via XX Settembre becomes an opportunity for Genoa to create new places to live in the city within the city, generating urban gravitations and reverberating existing functions in the neighbour hood.

CAPITheticAL ideas competition shortlist announced

The shortlisted finalists in the CAPITheticAL international design competition have been announced at the Museum of Australian Democracy, Old Parliament House in Canberra on 17 May 2012. One hundred years after the original call for design entries for Australia’s capital city, CAPITheticAL asked the world’s best student and professional designers to imagine how an Australian national capital might look if created today.

Over 1200 registrations were received from a range of practitioners: architects, urban planners, environmentalists and artists among them. The jury selected the finalists from a pool of 41 student entries and 73 open category entries (74 entries were received from Australian participants).

Cronton Colliery Competition Finalists Announced

We announced the Public Open Space At Cronton Colliery – Ideas Masterplan Competition back in January. The Land Trust’s international design competition attracted 50 entries from all over the world, including innovative projects designed by teams in South Korea, Japan and Italy. The finalists have been announced with HASSELL, Hawkins/Brown, Michael Lee Architects and Edward Architecture & Matthew Riley making the final cut.
