With the London 2012 Olympic over and the Paralympic Games soon to begin, but it won’t be long the all the teams and fans will be at home and the Olympics Park will be empty. The question always comes up what now for the venues, parks and infrastructure that was built for the Olympics? Well the legacy planning has been in the works with the Mayor setting up the London Legacy Development Corporation that will be “setting and maintaining standards for quality of design, construction and urban planning, to ensure a sustainable and enduring legacy for the Park”.

Launching the #04 edition of WLA Quarterly Landscape Architecture Magazine which includes projects from OLIN, Sasaki Associates, ACT, BDP, HASSELL, LOLA, Deltavormgroep and Piet Oudolf, Design Workshop and Sharp & Diamond Landscape Architecture with Cornelia Hahn Oberlander. The projects range from small scale designs to strategic master plan for a New Seven Wonders of the World.

HASSELL was recognised yesterday for its entry in both categories of the international Public Realm competition for CERN in Geneva. The competition invited designs for a new public area and reception for CERN, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, which houses the Large Hadron Collider.
