Forgotten Spaces is open to all university students and professionals within the arts, design and built environment vocations located in the UK. Now in its third year in London, this design competition asks architects, planners, artists, engineers and landscape designers to nominate an existing over-looked site in the Greater London area and propose an idea for its improvement.

Breathe | International Design Competition for a new urban village

Future Christchurch has launched Breathe, an International Design Competition to design a new urban village in Central City Christchurch. Designers from throughout the world are invited to influence the way the new generation of Central City residents will live within their environment and what type of communities they will want to be part of. Christchurch’s new urban village will offer medium density housing with easy access to green space, the new performing arts precinct, retail and entertainment areas, and transport and recreation facilities.

Designing Action Nashville ideas competition

Designing Action is an IDEAS competition to re-imagine an industrial site along Downtown Nashville’s Cumberland River, with an emphasis on creating active spaces for healthy citizens, and highlighting alternative sports and related activities. The 75 acre site has many variables to entice creative solutions. It is a brownfield disconnected from the neighborhoods of East Nashville by an elevated interstate. Almost the entire site was under water in the 2010 May flood. The site is within walking distance of several major sports, entertainment, and convention venues.
