The $4.3 billion Regional Rail Link project has reached another major milestone with the appointment of Kellogg Brown and Root (KBR) and Arup to complete the final planning and geotechnical work before construction starts in 2010.
“Regional Rail Link was Victoria’s highest priority project for action submitted to the Infrastructure Australia and will improve reliability for Geelong, Ballarat and Bendigo V/Line services and free up capacity for more trains on the Werribee, Craigieburn and Sunbury (Sydenham) suburban lines.

You may have noticed coverage of Crossrail at World Landscape Architect and other sites. So I thought it best to summarise what Crossrail is and who is involved.
Crossrail is the new high frequency, convenient and accessible railway for London and the South East. From 2017 Crossrail will travel from Maidenhead and Heathrow in the west to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east via new twin tunnels under central London. It will link Heathrow Airport, the West End, the City of London and Canary Wharf.

MUMBAI: The dream to re-mould the city and its surroundings into a cleaner, greener and a hi-tech metropolis is firming up with the state shortlisting 14 international firms out of 39 that had expressed interest in the project.
Among the consultants shortlisted are Jurong Consultants, Singapore, Lea International, Canada, Urbis, Dubai, Calthrope Associates USA, Groupe SCE,France, Gensler,USA, ILFS and Perkins Eastman, US, Arup Consultants with Domnique Perrault (France), Atonk International/Edsa, US, Buro Happold, London, Maxwan Arehelt, Rotterdam, GFB, Germany, and Consulting Engineering Services, India.

DOHALAND has awarded contracts to leading industry experts as the company is all set to begin work on the first phase of its ambitious Heart of Doha project.
Turner, in a joint venture with DOHALAND, is providing project and construction management services. DTZ (financial feasibility), Rider Levett Bucknall (cost consultancy), ARUP/EDAW/Allies and Morrison (design regulation and site planning approval), ARUP (infrastructure), and Urbis (retail) are also involved in the project.
