The Dutch-Belgian team DELVA Landscape Architects – plus office architects present the Master Plan ’The gardens of Puurs’. Their proposal came out as the winner in the tender call of the Vlaamse Bouwmeester, in which more than 60 international teams enrolled. The municipality of Puurs has the ambition to continue the current development of the center into an attractive and high quality housing and living area. In this development, the public space is key to support living, meeting and recreation in Puurs.

THE WHITE ROOMS by architect Pierre Thibault at Les Jardins de Métis / Reford Gardens

The experimental and ephemeral projects of Pierre Thibault and his Atelier are a key component of his architectural practice, from the most discreet installation in the landscape to multidisciplinary artistic performances. His exploration will continue from May 30 to September 28, 2015 at Les Jardins de Métis with an exhibition Les Chambres blanches / The White Rooms where his latest work will be on view.

The exhibition, “Dialogues on Urbanization: Emerging Landscapes”, examines landscape architecture in the age of planetary urbanization and opens with a reception on Mon., Mar. 23 from 4:30 to 6:00 to be followed by a lecture by landscape architect Adriaan Geuze, Co-founder of West 8, Rotterdam at 6:30 p.m. in S. R. Crown Hall – College of Architecture at Illinois Institute of Technology.

Designs unveiled for Indiana`s Bicentennial Plaza

A planned commemorative plaza on the grounds of the Indiana Statehouse will beautify the west entrance to the Capitol Building, replace aging infrastructure and improve pedestrian safety. Indiana Department of Administration (IDOA) Commissioner Jessica Robertson and Jason Larrison, state architect with the IDOA’s Public Works Division, presented the plaza update to the Indiana Bicentennial Commission.

The Canadian Society of Landscape Architects (CSLA) announced the national and regional winners of its annual Awards of Excellence. This year, 11 projects received a national award – preeminent examples in Canadian landscape architecture, honouring distinctive design, ground-breaking research, and sustainable landscape management. These award-winning projects illustrate the range of what landscape architects do. They are helping to reshape our communities – defining the places we want to live, work and play. Winners were selected by a national jury of landscape architects. National and Regional awards are presented in three categories: Honour, Merit, and Citations.
