VIDEO | The Best Planned City: Olmsted, Vaux and the Buffalo Park System by LALH

The Library of Landscape Heritage has just released a new video, The Best Planned City: Olmsted, Vaux and the Buffalo Park System. The short documentary (under 15 mins) is based on the LALH book by Francis R. Kowsky, which explores the development of the nation’s first park system, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux in 1868. All films in the North America by Design series are produced by LALH in association with Florentine Films/Hott Productions, Inc.

Snøhetta: Memories of architectural landscapes. A 30 minute video with Norwegian architect Kjetil T. Thorsen talking about Snøhetta’s work. The first section – ‘landscapes’ (5 Minutes), gives an insight on how Kjetil T. Thorsen and Snøhetta look at landscape. ”Landscapes are a massive force”, says Kjetil Trædal Thorsen, co-founder and director of Snøhetta: “And they are masterpieces, which architects can be inspired by.”
