Plan Tide by Stijlgroep landscape and urban design is one of several projects selected by the jurors of the Suburbia 2.0 competition, an international competition for built and unbuilt residential landscapes. Suburbia 2.0 was held by James Rose Center for landscape architectural research and design. Plan Tide was former sports fields envisioned as unique and distinctive landscape orientated residential area.

Newport Green, a park comprising a 4.25-acre waterfront site at the north end of Newport, New Jersey, is now open to the public. Located in a large, mixed use community across from lower Manhattan, the park provides comprehensive amenities requested by local residents not available in other area spaces. The first phase of the park, comprising an all-weather play field, playground, display and native gardens.

Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum will celebrate outstanding achievement in design this fall with its 13th annual National Design Awards program. Stoss Landscape Urbanism has been awarded the National Design Award for Landscape Architecture. Other winners include Mack Scogin Merrill Elam Architects (Architecture Design), Rebeca Méndez(Communication Design), Clive Wilkinson Architects(Interior Design), Scott Wilson – Minimal( Product Design). The award recipients will be honored on October 17 during National Design Week.

Central Park | Bayou Commons (University of Colorado/Harvard University)
A joint team of students representing the University of Colorado and Harvard University has won the 2012 Urban Land Institute (ULI)/Gerald D. Hines Student Urban Design Competition with “Bayou Commons”, a long-term redevelopment plan for a new downtown Houston district that includes public open space, integrates into the existing fabric of the surrounding neighborhoods, and brings residential units into the city’s core.
