By the end of this year, the city’s Strategic Planning and Partnership Commission hopes to hire a consultant to develop a five-year strategic plan that would include implementation measures to revitalize the city’s distressed neighborhoods.”

AECOM Joint Venture Wins San Francisco Central Subway Project – MarketWatch

MarketWatch reports “AECOM a leading provider of professional technical and management support services for government and commercial clients around the world, today announced that it has been awarded a $147-million contract to provide program-management services to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) for Phase II of its Central Subway project. AECOM will perform the work as part of a joint venture with EPC Consultants.”

Bush says he’s not considering scaling back $300 million library – Dallas Morning News

Undeterred by a battered public image and a recession that might dampen fundraising for his library, President George W. Bush said Thursday that he hasn’t considered scaling back the multimillion-dollar project at SMU.

“I don’t think popularity ratings have anything to do with whether people want to support a good idea,” he said.

New park in downtown Phoenix taking shape – The Arizona Republic

The Arizona Republic reports “The $30 million park taking shape in downtown Phoenix will be like no other the city has built, officials say.

The yet-unnamed spot will use water, lights, shade and art to create an oasis for nearby Arizona State University students, office workers, residents and tourists, landscape architect Tom Byrne said.”
