Brussels’ premiere commercial street, Rue Neuve, is in urgent need of a facelift. The City of Brussels thus conceived of a redevelopment process with two objectives. Firstly a masterplan to develop strategic projects to give a mixed identity to the entire district with an emphasis on diversifying the trade program, increasing mixed functions such as residential space finally to connect with surrounding functions.

In 2006, HTA were appointed by Stevenage Borough Council to create a new vision for the Town Centre Gardens. At over forty years old, the 3.85 hectare park had fallen into decline and was generally perceived as neglected and unsafe. The project successfully combined the restoration of the structure, character and heritage features within the Gardens with new contemporary interventions to give it a renewed relevance for the future.

The Landscape Institute has announced the shortlist for the 2013 Awards with some great projects vying for the President’s Award including Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, the Olympic Park design for the 2016 Rio Olympics, Gorky Park in Moscow and the transformation of London’s Leicester Square. The winner will be announced on the 21st November at a lunchtime ceremony hosted by Wayne Hemingway

The heart of Colchester’s cultural quarter is created by the new square. This project is the first new urban space for Colchester’s Cultural Quarter. The square has a simple aesthetic of grey blue stone and white concrete punctuated by detailed mosaic benches in gold, pink and brown.

A group of organisations, landowners and individuals have come together to create a website dedicated to the life and work of Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown as the first step towards marking the 300th anniversary of his birth in 2016. The Capability Brown 300 Celebration and Festival websiteis being created by Kolab and will be completed in three phases. Once completed it will be the first website to commemorate Brown’s work and legacy, provide an extensive directory of the many landscapes he created and host a portal of forthcoming events and activities taking place in the Birthday year.
