Elli Nikolaidou’s thesis develops a redesign of the Customs Office area in Kavala, with a principal goal to reconnect with the city. The regeneration of the space will allow its conversion to an important part of the life and the motion of the city center. Thanks to the creation of a network of pathways and spots of interest for pedestrians, the development of the natural element and the reuse of buildings, the area will be active all day long.

In Masmo, in the outskirts of Stockholm, you will find one of Stockholm´s most spectacular subway entrances. An elongated mountain with cliffs and pine trees stands as a backdrop for a square where the entrance to the station is shaped as a concrete cassette pushed into the mountain hillside. Even though the presence of the mountain is prominent and majestic, it is barely visible in the everyday rush to the subway.

Whether minimal, classical, informal, or productive, gardens inherently represent the relationship between man and nature. As we learn more about biophysical systems and ecological processes we are continuously challenged to revisit this relationship. In the project BEEhaviour, the garden becomes both an image and a system, providing a vehicle for education, productivity, exploration and imagination.

Remix Garden 3
London based garden design festival staged a three month long project in partnership with the RHS and coin Street Community Builders, titled The Remix Garden, running over the summer of 2013 in the iconic OXO Tower Wharf courtyard on the South Bank. The basic premise being that the Cloudy Bay Discovery Garden, designed by Andrew Wilson and Gavin McWilliam which appeared at Chelsea Flower Show, was handed over to four upcoming designers to remix, in the same manner that a song would be remixed by different producers.
