Gallery of Australian Design opens in Canberra

A new gallery showcasing Australian Design has been opened in Canberra known as the Gallery of Australian Design. The Gallery is a partnership between National Museum of Australia, Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA), Australian Institute of Architects,  and the University of Canberra.

National President of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects, Mr Neil Hobbs, is delighted at the opportunity to be able to present the best of Australian design. “Having such a facility in the centre of Canberra will showcase the best of Australia’s designers to the public.  It will also allow enhanced collaboration between design disciplines.”

“The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 11 out of 22 passed the Landscape Architect Licensure Examination given by the Board of Landscape Architecture in Manila this March 2009.

Registration for membership with the Philippine Association of Landscape Architects, Inc. (PALA) will start on Wednesday, March 25, 2009.

Indonesian dam warnings ignored – theage.com.au

The dam wall at Situ (Lake) Gintung south of Jakarta was breached early on Friday morning.

Nirwono Yoga, the head of the Indonesia Landscape Architecture Study Group,….. warned of a calamity after conducting three surveys of Jakarta’s dams in 2005, 2007 and 2008.
