The project developed a design idea for an elevated bike infrastructure in Genoa’s east Valley, known as Val Bisagno. The valley has been named after the seasonal stream that rushes through it, nowadays the area is one of Genoa’s busiest urban periphery, with 130.000 inhabitants and two major issues:
1) The recurring floods of the seasonal stream.
2) The lack of sustainable mobility plans.

The Dutch-Belgian team DELVA Landscape Architects – plusofficearchitects have been selected to produce the development plan that forms the basis for further development of the area around Heulebeek and Leiemeersen, an area that borders the edges of the city centre of Kuurne, Belgium. Together with the municipality and the Leiedal community the designers are looking at the possible development of the 35 ha area. The design will not only involve designers but also local residents and key stakeholders in the development of the vision through a number of workshops and participation events.

The parking field with tetrahedrons that evoke memories of anti-tank barricades. Parklaan under the instruction of Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie project office (New Dutch Waterline) and the Province of Utrecht creatively designed the main entrance of the New Dutch Waterline National Centre (and Limes). The most important challenge was to design a car park for 250 cars and a pedestrain access to Fort Vechten. The design was made in cooperation with the visual artist Paul de Kort.

The Mayor of New York recently announced that the city will install the largest solar energy installation in New York City at Freshkills Parks. The installation is set to power 2,000 homes and will increase the City’s current renewable energy capacity by 50 percent. The Administration is moving forward with steps to officially map an additional 1,500 acres of Freshkills into parkland, officially bringing the total for Freshkills Park to 2,200 acres and bringing total parkland in New York City to more than 30,000 acres for the first time in history.

The revitalisation of Dandenong’s Lonsdale Street – a collaboration between landscape architecture/urban design studio TCL and BKK Architects – recently received a major national award for its outstanding urban design. The public infrastructure project took out the highest accolade for urban design – the Walter Burley Griffin Award – at the 2013 Australian National Architecture Awards, held at the Sydney Opera House.
