Joint team Marko&Placemakers and 2ka landscape architects won competition for revitalization and redesign of Racianske Myto Park – a major city park in Bratislava. The proposal is carefully integrating the existing green infrastructure with new experiences that will transform the park from an abandoned city green into a vital resource for the local community. The project has an ambition to set a precedent in rethinking the city’s attitude to public green and modernization of green infrastructure.

At its economic and political height during the mid-20th century, Cleveland, Ohio had a population of nearly 1 million people and was building and investing in infrastructure and civic projects for projected growth that would double this population before the turn of the century. Instead, the industrial economy quickly evaporated and the population declined by more than half its 1950s high (approx. 396,000 in 2010), leaving a vast swath of post-industrial land at the city’s geographic center.

The vision of the winning team focusses on the realisation of the perfect parking, with a comfortable, lively, and socially safe city square on top of it, in which transfer and accommodation are designed in a recognizable and inviting way.

The new Cranbrook Junior School was designed with the ambition of creating a ‘school in a park’. Working closely with Tzannes Associates, ASPECT Studios developed the landscape design to provide flexible spaces that best meet teaching, learning and play requirements.

UC Davis West Village is a new 222-acre development in Davis, California that responds to a substantial growth in the number of students, faculty and staff living on the University’s campus. The city of Davis is a unique and cherished community, and great care was taken throughout the design and planning process to pay homage to its history and culture.

In spite of the proximity to the water the city does not always make use of this quality. Fisktorget is a plaza facing the sea and has traditionally been the market place for selling fish. Once also market hall stood here for such purposes, although torn down in the 1960s. The plaza has since been left open and unarticulated, separating the city from its waters rather than taking use of it.
