CONSTRUCTION of the world’s second seven star hotel will begin in Sanya, Hainan Province this year with a budget of up to 2 billion yuan (US$292 million).
The 120-meter-high hotel is expected to open to the public in 2011. It will be managed by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Inc, which manages 120 hotels in 23 countries and regions around the world, Beijing Times reported today.

Besides its iconic Bund, Shanghai has plans to preserve as much of its less than 100-year-old architectural and cultural heritage.
EVEN though Shanghai does not have much architectural heritage, the city is doing everything it can to preserve whatever is there.
