Ou Ning to curate south China 2009 architecture biennale

After months of discussion and evaluation, the committee of Shenzhen & Hong Kong Bi-city Biennale of Urbanism \ Architecture has selected Ou Ning as the chief curator for its third installment, due to be launched at the end of 2009 in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, the coastal city in the South China known as the forefront of China’s economic reform.

Herzog & de Meuron reveals design for Madrid bank HQ – Building Design

Building Design reports that “Herzog & de Meuron has unveiled designs for the Madrid headquarters of Spanish bank BBVA.

The design concept proposes creating a small city and artificial oasis on a site on the outskirts of the city, described by the architects as a “desert-like” space”

A Plan For The Future – Jamestown | Post-Journal

Kristen Johnson of the Post-Journal reports

“Help is on the way for Jamestown’s distressed neighborhoods.

By the end of this year, the city’s Strategic Planning and Partnership Commission hopes to hire a consultant to develop a five-year strategic plan that would include implementation measures to revitalize the city’s distressed neighborhoods.”
