Prime Minister Balkenende opens HanzeForum

Dutch Prime Minister Balkenende officially opened the new HanzeForum in Groningen, The Netherlands. The HanzeForum is an integral part of the Zernike Campus, a lively area where education, knowledge-building and entrepreneurship come together.
The Prime Minister started his visit at the Atrium of the Van Olst Tower to unveil the artwork of Marthe Röling. After that he toured the campus area and revealed the new name of the building of the Institute for Sports Studies.

West 8 designed the master plan for the Zernike Campus and made the detailed landscape design for the HanzeForum

Central Gov’t to review bridge report – news.gov.hk

The Hong Goverment website news.gov.hk announced that

“The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge feasibility report will be submitted to the Central Government in December for scrutiny, and the three jurisdictions will invite tenders for the main bridge’s preliminary design on December 1.

This was the message from Secretary for Transport & Housing Eva Cheng after the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge Advance Work Co-ordination Group’s 9th meeting in Guangzhou today.

Britain’s cruise ship QE2 arrives to Dubai – International Herald Tribune

Britain’s most famous luxury cruise ship, the Queen Elizabeth 2, arrived in Dubai on Wednesday where it will turn into a floating hotel moored off an artificial palm-shaped island.

Chennai buildings get closer to nature – The Times of India

Times of India reports

“When RMZ Millennium Park in Chennai was categorised as a LEED gold building by the Hyderabad-based Indian Green Building Council (IGBC)
in September this year, the tally of certified green buildings in the city went up to nine.

Although Chennai’s realty sector embarked on the green quest in 2004, it is only now that the city is emerging as a top contender in energy-efficient and user-friendly office structures, ranking third overall in the country.”
