West 8 won the Fort Mason Center Design Competiton in December and we published Rios Clementi Hale Studios realised design for Grand Park in Los Angeles and Dan Pearson Studio project in Japan. In November, we celebrated 5 years of publishing landscape architecture projects, news, competitions, including The National Creative Cluster by Sasaki Associates in Beijing. We also featured ASPECT Studios upgrades for Sydney’s Chinatown and also 15 Knots at Grand-Métis Canada by ATLAS and Forbes Lipschitz. October saw Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates with Thomas Phifer & Partners win Waller Creek Design Competition. We published Maxthreads design for Kaohsiung Taiwan – Infiltrated Cultural and Ecological Urbanism along with the realised design for Leicester Square City Quarter in London by Burns + Nice. Imagining the Lowline exhibit opened in September and gave us a small insight into the possibility of the space, MVRDV won the Floriade 2022 with Almere and OMGEVING showed us the reflective power of water during day and night with their Averbode Abbey Square project. August saw the plans for the 2012 London Olympics Legacy plans unveiled including North Park by erect architecture, South Park by James Corner Field Operations. We also published 2016 Olympics Masterplan and Diverse Networks by Openfabric. |
