The site between the Czaar Peterstraat and the Funenpark was the location of a former croquettes factory. Until recently the warehouse was used as a workspace and studio for a media company. Due to the transformation of the entire neighbourhood it became possible to develop.

Part of the Van Alen Spring Festival, Disruption?, the L Train Shutdown Charrette invited teams to “disrupt” the complex process of public transportation improvement. The one-day charrette offered an opportunity for fresh thinking, allowing for interdisciplinary teams to imagine systemic design solutions for hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers during an extended period of reduced subway service.

Located in China’s southernmost province of Hainan, the Dingan Riverfront & Urban Redevelopment Plan has been prepared to achieve two major goals for this river front metropolis. The first goal is to bring the existing river to life and to realize its potential usefulness. Currently, the river is an important natural feature which is not being used to its full potential due to fluctuating water levels and poor accessibility.

The Daiichi project site is located 40 miles outside of Tokyo in a small, quiet town surrounded by rice fields, coastlines, and mountains. The company aimed to improve working conditions for their employees and to make manifest the company’s commitment to a healthy environment. In order to fulfill their building design concept, “Working in a Forest,” Takenaka Architecture invited WRT to serve as landscape design consultants.

The Rosa Barba International Landscape Prize, by Fundació Banc de Sabadell, forms part of the International Landscape Biennial of Barcelona, that will take place in Barcelona, on the next 29th,30th September and 1st October. After closing the submission of landscape projects and planning created around the world since 2011 to 2016, the International Jury has selected 10 finalists.

The eagerly anticipated 2016 Triumph Pavilion at the Museum Gardens in Bethnal Green, London, next to the Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum of Childhood has now opened to the public with great applause. The Triumph Pavilion project is an annual showcase and on the whole a unique and exciting celebration of architecture and design. It encourages architectural experimentation and exploration including form, function and material. The Pavilion is also part of this year’s London Festival of Architecture.
