This project is a parklet for downtown Las Vegas. Downtown Las Vegas is undergoing a renaissance. Businesses and people are moving back into downtown. A substantial challenge for downtown is the lack of park space. This parklet, to remain in place for a year or two, offers people a chance to relax outside and connect to nature in multiple ways.

ADEPT & Mandaworksare now officially announced winners of the large urban development of Kolkajen-Ropsten in Stockholm’s Royal Seaport, Sweden. The Jury appointed the proposal, ’Royal Neighbour’ as the winner of the parallel assignment on basis of it’s high architectural and urban qualities. Since summer 2014, the team has worked closely with the city of Stockholm to develop the masterplan. The ambitious phase 1 will commence building in 2017.

Peak Experience is an exciting installation by ATLAS Lab
that was created for the San Francisco Market Street Prototyping Festival – a 3 Day event that took place in April showcasing 50 prototype projects.
Drawing from the nearly 53 hills that frame San Francisco’s most diverse and engaging neighborhoods, Peak Experience reconceives the hills of San Francisco into a series of varying and undulating mounds that frame a mix of uses that promote the integration of play into traditional street models.

Taking a cue from the City’s creative, social-media-supported RFI, a group of designers from Sasaki, spanning graphic design, landscape architecture, urban design, planning, architecture, and programming specializations, launched a grassroots campaign that responds to the RFI on its same terms. They created the #PlazaPlus hashtag to spur further dialogue with the public around
#CityHallPlaza. Breaking with traditional project norms, the #PlazaPlus design team took to the streets, spending many weekend and night-time hours out on the plaza, hearing from community members and capturing their hopes in inspired visuals. The team collected over 100 handwritten suggestion cards from Bostonians, which reiterated that the public yearns for a usable plaza and that the ultimate solutions for this space will need to be comprehensive and thoughtful.
